Pam's Challenge: Write a story, picture essay or poem about the sea. A warm, lovely sea.
Not much of a challenge when you live in Hawai'i, but to help warm Pam up, I will make the effort...;-)

I live on an island anchored by 5 volcanoes and surrounded by seas...warm seas...tropical seas...beautiful blue Hawaiian seas.

As you drive around the island there are not too many places where you can't see the sea...up close or from a distance...but you're always aware of the sea.

The sea is ever present...and the island residents know how to enjoy it...surfing, kayaking, fishing, swimming...paddling a canoe as ancient water transportation meets the modern floating cities...

The moods of the sea might change from calm to angry...but you can always find a quiet cove somewhere to just be as one with your surrounds...

Until the sun bids us aloha as it hides until the next morning to repeat the stunning cycle...

The sea...our beautiful sea, will always be there...

I do not tire taking pics with the sea as a background...the toughest time I had was deciding when to stop adding photos to this essay...!
The third one down was taken of a gorgeous day when Madame Donna came to visit me and the two of us were scampering all over Hilo with our cameras...

Where I live also has lots of coastline and sea to see. Cop this:
Australia has a continuous coastline of around 30 000 km. Scattered around the coast of Australia are more than 12 000 islands, the majority being continental shelf islands .... If the coastlines of the surrounding islands are included in the measurement of Australia's coastline, along with hundreds of bays and estuaries, the total coastline extends over 70 000 km. Australia has the world's fifth-longest coastline after Russia, Canada, Greenland and Indonesia. (Source: Skwirk )
